Background; Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is associated with improved survival for patients with abdominal malignancies peritoneal dissemination .This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Education program on improving patient reported recovery profile post Hyperthermia Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy Peritoneal Carcinomatosis .Design: Quasi-experimental design was utilized in this . Setting :The carried out at intensive care unit National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University. During period from beginning January 2019 till January 2020 Sample :Purposive sample 97 patients Tools :Two tools used to collect data .These are structured interview questionnaire assess patients' knowledge regarding Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy, Patient-Reported Recovery Profile Results :Showed that there was statistically significant difference term increased level among study group , as well a increase total mean score patient-reported recovery Profile pre ,immediately after education implementation ,shows high statistically negative correlation between length hospital stay and reported recovery profile immediately implementation inverse relationship. Conclusion :Implementing designed for patients effective in improving knowledge, recovery. Shows high statistically significant reported recovery implementation. Cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy in peritoneal carcinomatosis.

BACKGROUND Peritoneal carcinomatosis is an advanced form of cancer with poor prognosis that in the past was treated mainly palliatively. Today, the definitive approach to peritoneal surface malignancy involves peritonectomy, visceral resection and perioperative intra-abdominal hyperthermic chemotherapy. The anticipated results range from at least palliative to as far as intent to cure. Proper p...

A novel drug delivery system of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal carcinomatosis using gelatin microspheres incorporating cisplatin.

BACKGROUND Peritoneal carcinomatosis is a poor prognostic factor for patients with gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and pancreatic cancer. Cisplatin (CDDP) is among the most effective anti-cancer agents, although its adverse effects remain unresolved. For the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis with high-dose CDDP, it is necessary to design a new delivery system of CDDP that can decrease syste...

PURPOSE Peritoneal seeding is the most common type of metastasis or recurrence and one of the poor prognostic factors in gastric cancer. Moreover, there are as yet no effective treatment modalities available. Recently some research groups suggested the benefit of combined cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy, but the related experiments remain in the trial stage. Therefore, we...
